Eleanor Rose Mitchell Lynch, 77, of 118 Jackson's Hollow passed away on Saturday at Kitty Askins Hospice Center in Goldsboro.

Funeral services will be held on Monday at 7 p.m. in the chapel of Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro. The Rev. Vernon Braswell and the Rev. Larry Bostian will officiate. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Willowdale Cemetery in Goldsboro with the Rev. Thomas McLendon officiating.

Ms. Lynch was born in Wayne County to the late Leland Mitchell and Kathleen Perkins Mitchell. She was a member of Rosewood First Baptist Church.

She is survived by six daughters, Libby Rash and her husband, Randolph, of Rosewood, Cathy Lutz of Rosewood, Susan Strickland and her husband, Dennis, of Pinkney, Debbie Mateovic and her husband, Bob, of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., Patty Mangum and her husband, Jamie, of Wilmington, and Tina Tripplet of Princeton; a special nephew, Lyman R. Mitchell of Durham; a special cousin, Ophelia Blackman of Grantham; one sister, Elizabeth Walters and her husband, Earl, of Rosewood; sisters and brother-in-law, Mary L. Casey and Frances L. Deans of Goldsboro and Billy M. Lynch of Statesville, N.C.; 11 grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; six stepgreat- grandchildren; and special friends, Donnie Mayo, Ken and Edna Whaley, all of Goldsboro.

In addition to her parents, Ms. Lynch was preceded in death by her husband, Oliver Clyde Lynch; three sisters, one brother and two sons-in-law, Linwood E. Jernigan Sr. and William L. Lutz.

Ms. Lynch's grandsons will serve as pall bearers.

Although flowers are welcome, memorial contributions may be directed to 3HC, 2402 Wayne Memorial Drive, Goldsboro, N.C. 27534 or to the T.K. Holmes Memorial Scholarship Fund, c/o Rosewood First Baptist Church, 562 N.C. Hwy. 581 S., Goldsboro, N.C. 27530.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to and following the service on Monday evening at Howell Funeral Home & Crematory, 1500 Wayne Memorial Drive and other times at the residence, 118 Jackson's Hollow in Rosewood.
