Died Nov. 3, 2006

DUNN-Dorothy McLaurin Joyner, 85, of Dunn, died Friday at Rex Rehabilitation Center in Apex. She was the daughter of the late Duncan James and Vesper Reardon McLaurin. A funeral service will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Stony Run Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church. The Rev. Greg Joyner will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Joyner was a longtime member of Stoney Run P.F.W.B. Church and was retired from Betsy Johnson Hospital.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Norman Lee Joyner, one son, Randy Joyner, one daughter, Jayne Joyner; five brothers, Cletus Edward McLaurin, Urfa Purcell McLaurin, Darrell McLaurin, William L. McLaurin, and B.E. McLaurin, and two sisters, Mittie Belle Stone and Elease Hollowell.

Surviving are four sons, William F. "Bill" Joyner, of Wake Forest, Larry Joyner, of Chicago Ill., Donnie Joyner, of New York, and the Rev. Greg Joyner of Valley Forge, Pa.; daughters, Marilyn Miller of Abingdon, Va., Jann Joyner, of Benicia, Calif., Deborah Joyner, of Cary, and Kim East; one brother, Harold McLaurin, of Wilmington; one sister, Ella Brantham, of Roseville, Ga.; 16 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Monday from 6 until 8 p.m. at Skinner and Smith Funeral Home.
