CARTHELL COBB

FAISON - Carthell Cobb, 79, died Friday at the Veteran's Hospital in Fayetteville. He was the son of the late Harvey J. and Irene Williams Cobb.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, at 2 p.m. at Hills Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in Faison with Bishop Chester L. Aycock officiating. Burial will follow at Cobb Cemetery in Faison.
Mr. Cobb served three years in the U.S. Army. He retired from the Fire Department in Philadelphia, Penn., and Cates Pickle in Faison.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Helen Cobb of the home; three brothers, Samuel Faison of Faison, Harvey J. Cobb, Jr. of Hampton,VA and Jarvis Dixon, Jr. of Rose Hill; four sisters, Tempie Hill of Faison, Lillie Boykin of Rose Hill, Susan Murphy of Rose Hill and Betty Frederick of Faison; several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, great-great nieces and nephews.
Viewing will be at Garris Funeral Home on Friday from 3 to 7 p.m. The family will be present from 6 to 7 p.m. and at other times at the home.
