SEVEN SPRINGS -- Martha Denson Herring, 86, 4681 N.C. Highway 111 South, died Sunday at Kitty Askins Hospice Center. Mrs. Herring was born in Lenoir County to the late Joseph and Rosa Letchworth Denson. She was wife of the late Wayne Herring and was a member of Seven Springs Baptist Church. She was a long time hair dresser with a great love of cooking and helping others.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. from Rouse Funeral Home with the Rev. Ashley Summerlin and the Rev. Phillip Garrett officiating. Burial will follow in Pineview Cemetery.
Mrs. Herring is survived by a daughter, Pamela Coker and husband, Larry, of Goldsboro; two grandchildren, Larry Wayne Coker of Goldsboro, and Amy Coker Peele and husband, Daryl, of Snow Hill; three sisters, Julia McDaniel of Durham, Iris Evans of Seven Springs and Lottie Howell of Mobile, Ala.; special friend, Carolyn Gibbs; along with many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service Wednesday. Memorials may be made to Kitty Askins Hospice Center, c/o 3HC, 2402 Wayne Memorial Drive, Goldsboro, 27534.
