NEWTON GROVE -- David A. "Doc" Bennett, 78, 4550 Mount Olive Highway, died Tuesday.
The funeral will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at Newton Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Frank Sandy and the Rev. Paul Rose officiating.
Born in Johnston County, he was the son of the late Allen and Lucille Barefoot Bennett
He is survived by his wife, Maggie Joyce Bennett; daughters, Brenda Blackmon of Faison, Linda Bennett of Raleigh, Margaret Adams of Benson and Joyce Warrick of Clinton; a sister, Louise B. Westbrook of Newton Grove; a brother, John Allen Bennett of Grantham; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 at West and Dunn Funeral Homes Inc. of Newton Grove. At other times, they will be at the home.
Memorials may be made to the Kidney Foundation, Newton Grove Rescue Squad or Newton Grove Baptist Church.
