BEULAH N. SANSOM

RALEIGH -- Beulah "Bea" Norton Sansom, 86, died Tuesday in Sunnybrook Health Care.

The funeral will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at Joyner's Funeral Home. Burial will be in Maplewood Cemetery with Dr. Charles Johnson officiating.

She retired from the News and Observer Publishing Co. in 1984.

She was born Nov. 10, 1919, in Wilson County, the daughter of the late Charlie W. Norton and Julia Bissette.

Her only daughter, Edith Raye Webber passed away Feb. 28, 1998.

Surviving are her husband, James "Jim" F. Sansom of Raleigh; granddaughters, Candice Hollamon and husband, Jesse, Susan Grass and husband, Raymond, Jacqueline Holder and Kathryn Webb; great-grandchildren, Angela H. Bridges and husband Jeff, and Olivia, Chad Hollamon and wife, Wendy, and Zoey, Brandon Hollamon, Emily Grass, Nichole Foucht and husband, Craig, and Michael, and Anthony Holder; sisters, Jeannette Tyson and husband, Bruce, and Joyce Hinton.

Sunnybrook Healthcare staff, nurses, therapists, and CNA's are very adequately skilled, congenial and caring. We appreciate and thank them for their exceptional service and kindness.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 1 to 2 p.m. at Joyner's Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in her memory may be directed to Hospice of Wake County, 1300 St. Mary's St., 4th floor, Raleigh, 27605-1276; Raleigh Rescue Mission, 314 E. Hargett St., Raleigh, 27601; Temple Baptist Church of Raleigh, 1417 Clifton St., Raleigh, 27604; or the charity of one's choice.
