Donna Gail Neel Hollowell, 58, of Hildebran, died Friday at Frye Regional Medical Center after a long illness.
Mrs. Hollowell was born in Clintwood, Va., to the late John William Neel and Vivian Watson Neel. She attended high school in Hildebran and graduated from Rosewood High School in Goldsboro. She was a beautician and nursing assistant for a number of years. She later became a registered nurse and worked at Frye Regional Medical Center for three years. She was a member of the Icard Fire and Rescue Ladies Auxiliary and was a member of Mountain Grove Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, George Hollowell, of the home; her children, Jamie Hollowell and April Traxler; and her brothers and sisters, Harry Neel, Johnny Neel, Beverly Childers, Jennifer Clark and Todd Neel. Also surviving are six grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 3 p.m. today in the Chapel of Heritage Funeral Service in Valdese. The Rev. Ronald Arndt will officiate. The family will receive friends following the service.
A graveside service will be 11 a.m. Monday at Hillcrest Cemetery in Valdese.
At other times the family will be at the residence of her daughter, April Traxler, 3092 Hodges St., Connelly Springs, N.C. 28612.
