Died Sept. 2, 2006

A homegoing service for Forrest T. Hamer, who died Friday at the Brian Center, will held Tuesday at 11a.m. at Christ Centered Church with Apostle Dennis R. Jacobs officiating. Interment will be in the Elmwood Cemetery.

He is survived by one daughter, Deborah Sykes of Goldsboro; two sons, Forrest M. Hamer of Emeryville, Calif., and Monte Hamer of Goldsboro; two sisters, Louise Simpkins of Chadbourn and Audrey Hawkins of Baltimore, Md.; seven brothers; Clifton Hamer of Greensboro, Dudley Hamer of Chadbourn, Johnny Weldon Hamer of Waverly, Texas, Alton Hamer of Burgaw, Leon Hamer of Carol Gable, Fla., Edward Hamer of New York, and Delroe Hamer Jr. of Chadbourn; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

There will be a viewing tonight from 4 to 8 at Rhodes Funeral Home chapel of Goldsboro with the family receiving friends from 7 to 8 p.m.
