Wilbert Leon Stafford, 90, died Monday morning at SunBridge Care in Mount Olive.

The funeral will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Warren H. Barfield Sr. officiating. Burial will be in Wayne Memorial Park.

Mr. Stafford was born in Johnston County Feb. 18, 1916, to the late Joseph Wilbert Stafford and Nora Ann Kornegay Stafford. He was married to the late Mildred Lee Lawhorn Stafford.

He was a retired mechanic with the City of Goldsboro.

Mr. Stafford is survived by his daughters, Barbara S. Johnson and Linda S. Carter of Goldsboro; his sons, Wilbert Leon Stafford Jr. of Goldsboro and Thomas W. Stafford of Dudley; his sisters, Pauline Tadlock of Goldsboro, Rachel Porter of Goldsboro, Louise Popkey of Portsmouth, Va., and Marie Hartley of Dudley; his brothers, Henry Stafford of Norfolk, Va., Max Stafford of Fayetteville and Earl Stafford of Goldsboro; 14 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, John Stafford and Lionel Stafford.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home and other times at his residence.
