Mr. James Alvin Williams, Sr., 91, of 711 Western Wayne Drive, died Friday morning at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

He was born in Wayne County to the late Ned Williams and Mary Elizabeth Wilson Williams. He worked as a contractor and had worked in maintenance at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services will be today at 5 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Charles Gentry officiating. Interment will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Wayne Memorial Park.

He is survived by his wife, Judy Whitley Williams; his children, Kenneth Williams and his wife, Carol, of Newport, Marion E. Williams and his wife, Mary Ann, of Princeton; James A. Williams Jr. and his wife, Carol, of Goldsboro, Don A. Williams and his wife, Helen, of Pikeville, Annette Quinn of Charlotte, Walter G. Williams and his wife, Tracy, of Goldsboro, Randy S. Williams and his wife, Rachelle, of Pikeville, Marsha L. Williams of Goldsboro, Amanda W. Newcomb and her husband, Clint, of Pikeville, Joseph Shane Lozier of Fremont and Makayla B. Williams, of the home; 18 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends today from 3 to 5 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home and other times at his home.
