PRINCETON -- Vera Lamm Arnette Hinnant, 83, 207 S. Pine St., died Thursday morning at her residence.

The funeral will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Princeton Baptist Church with the Rev. Dwayne Batten and the Rev. Horace Ricks officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.

Born Jan. 10, 1923, she was the daughter of the late James Henry and Ida Barnes Lamm and was preceded in death by her first husband, Gordon Arnette; brothers Willie Lamm, Bill Lamm and Lester Lamm; and sisters, Beulah Vaughn, Henrietta Aycock, Emma Wellons and Lillie Price.

Mrs. Hinnant was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to all. She was a member of Princeton Baptist Church. She was the former co-owner of the Highway Grill with her brother Willie Lamm for many years in Princeton and was the co-founder and owner of A&A Coffee Shop with her sister Henrietta for several years.

She is survived by her husband, Winfred D. Hinnant of Princeton; a son, Danny Arnette of Goldsboro; a daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Robert Cousins of Goldsboro; a stepson and daughter-in-law, David and Gayle Hinnant of Raleigh; a stepdaughter and son-in-law, Donna and Dwight Nipper of Raleigh; grandchildren and grandchildren-in-law, Katherine and Bryan Bowman of Raleigh, Lori and Randy White of Greenville, Seth Arnette, Jason Lewis and Ashley Colquitt; stepgrandchildren, Meloni Hinnant, Troy and Gina Hinnant, Stephen and Anelda Hinnant, Dena and Ronnie Murray, Gail and Walter Anderson, Cheri and Doug Getsinger and Kay and David Flythe; seven great-grandchildren; 10 stepgreat-grandchildren; and several special nieces and nephews including Blois Smith and Gerald Wellons.

Vera's family was very special to her and she loved them very much.

The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 at Casey Funeral Home of Princeton.
