SEVEN SPRINGS -- James Lee Garner, 69, 692 Pineview Cemetery Road, died Wednesday at Guardian Care of Kenansville.

A graveside service will be held Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at Tom's Creek Cemetery of Denton.

Born in High Point, he was the son of the late Fairley Lee and Alice E. Taylor Garner and the brother of the late Barbara "BoBo" Garner. He was retired from Jones Painting and was a 17-year veteran with the Army having served two terms in Vietnam.

He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Devon K. and Elva N. Garner of Seven Springs; a daughter, Jannice Cotton of Ava, Mo.; two brothers, Donny Garner of Mount Olive and Bobby Garner of Thomasville; two sisters, Joyce Browe of Seven Springs and Diane Gallimore of Denton; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

The family will greet friends tonight from 7 to 9 at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home. At other times they will be at the home of his sister, Joyce Browe, 698 Pineview Cemetery Road, Seven Springs.
