DOROTHY R. HUFHAM

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. -- Dorothy Rowe "Dot" Hufham, 91, died peacefully in Myrtle Beach Rehabilitation Hospital Thursday.

A memorial service will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. at Ayden Christian Church. A graveside committal will follow.

She was born Oct. 16, 1915, in Ayden. She graduated from Park View Hospital Nursing School in Rocky Mount and practiced OB/GYN, operating room and emergency nursing.

She was married to James L. "Red" Hufham of Rocky Mount, who predeceased her in 1990. For the last six months, she lived very happily in Summit Assisted Living Facility in Little River, S.C., where she was active in many of the programs. Dorothy was an avid golfer and an excellent bridge player.

She is survived by her son, William L. Hufham of Chocowinity; her daughter, Dorothy H. Weaver of Sunset Beach; five grandchildren, Robyn Cork of Raleigh, Elisabeth Bentley of Goldsboro, Traci Jendo of Chicago, Ill., William Hufham Jr. of Silverdale, Wash., and Brett Weaver of Birmingham, Ala.; and five great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the church or charity of your choice.
