ALIEAN B. DAUGHTRY

Aliean Bedford Daughtry, 83, died Thursday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

The funeral will be held Saturday at 3 p.m. at St. Luke United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jean Hood and the Rev. David Harvin officiating. Burial will be in Willow Dale Cemetery.

Mrs. Daughtry was born in Wayne County Jan. 15, 1923, to the late Wayland Dortch and Ella Howell Bedford and was married to the late Emmett Elton Daughtry.

She worked as a secretary with the family business of Dixie Electric Motor Service and also worked at Howell's Child Care.

She was past Worthy Matron and active secretary of the Order of the Eastern Star, Goldsboro Chapter 54. She was a member of St. Luke United Methodist Church where she was a member of the Wesley Fellowship Sunday school class.

She is survived by three daughters, Patricia Daughtry of Lewisville, Linda Dean and husband, Jody, of LaGrange and Dorothy Daughtry of Goldsboro; a sister, Virginia Holzkamm of Goldsboro; three brothers, Willie Bedford and wife, Jean, of Goldsboro, Johnny Bedford of Spartanburg, S.C., and Nathan Bedford and wife, Judy, of Loganville, Ga.; three grandchildren, Christy Dean Benson and husband, Ken, of Colfax, Lisa Dean Taylor and husband, Clint, of Morehead City and Daniel Elton Daughtry of Goldsboro; and a great-grandson, Trey Benson.

Although flowers are welcome, memorials may be made to St. Luke United Methodist Church, 1608 E. Pine St., Goldsboro, 27530.

The family will receive friends Saturday from 2 to 3 p.m. at St. Luke United Methodist Church's parlor.
