Funeral services Friday
ROCKY MOUNT -- Valerie Rene Rose, 45, of 4334 Old Carriage Road, Rocky Mount, died Tuesday at Nash General Hospital.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at Seaboard United Methodist Church with the Rev. Doug Billups and the Rev. Carroll Taylor officiating. Burial will be in Cedarwood Cemetery in Roanoke Rapids.
The family will receive friends today at Hockaday Funeral Home from 7-9 p.m. and at other times at 304 W. Central Street in Seaboard, N.C.
She was a 1979 graduate of Roanoke Rapids High School.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Robert and Ruby Whitman, grandmother Lois Fry and father, Charles Brantley Rose.
She is survived by her mother and step-father, Kathryn and Charles Barfield of Seaboard; her sister, Deborah Bailey and husband, Shelton, of Rocky Mount; her brothers, Norman Lee Hairr of Gaston, Nelson Lewis Hairr of Roanoke Rapids and William David Bensinger of Roanoke Rapids.
