Murtie Mae Spells-Ried, 85, of 6960 U.S. 117 North, died Tuesday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
The funeral will be held Saturday at Greater Morning Star Church of Fremont with Overseer Howard Artis officiating. Burial will be in Fremont Cemetery.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Bessie Mae Reid, and her husband, Isreal Reid Sr.
She is survived by a son, Isreal Reid Jr. of Goldsboro; three daughters, Bessie M. Braswell and Smithy Sherood of Fremont and Frances Braswell of Dudley; a sister, Lucinda Adams of Fayetteville; and a host of other relatives and friends.
A viewing will be held Friday from 3 to 8 p.m. at Hamilton Funeral Chapel.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m.
