Thomas Smith of Tampa, Fla., died at his home after a brief illness.
He was born in Wayne County to the late Leo Smith and Hattie Bell S. Smith.
He was preceded in death by his son, Thomas C. Smith Jr.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Mary Ann Smith; his brother, James E. Smith, and a sister, Linda L. Bartlet, both of Goldsboro. He is also survived by nieces and nephews, all of Goldsboro, as well as great-nieces and nephews
