Martha Parnell Bass Price, 79, of Fremont, died Friday morning at SunBridge Care and Rehabilitation of Mount Olive.
She was born in Johnston County and was the daughter of the late Dr. Franklin "Dock" Parnell and Ellen Davis Parnell. She was preceded in death by her husband Arthur "Buck" Bass and a son, Clifton "Jesse" Bass.
The funeral service will be 11 a.m. Monday at Casey Funeral Home in Princeton, with the Revs. Howard Seymour and Rudolph Rowe officiating.
She is survived by a very special niece, Kathy Summerlin of Fremont; sisters, Gladys Irene Summerlin of Fremont, Gloria Hope Talton of Princeton and Rhoda Iona Bailey of Pikeville; four grandchildren, Sherry Kidder of Felicity, Ohio, Sheila Griffin of Pikeville, Kimberly Bradley of Mount Olive and Dwayne Bass of Lucama; 12 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will be receiving friends 9:30 a.m. tomorrow morning at Casey Funeral Home in Princeton.
