CORAL L.L. CUSHING

Coral Lillian Loxham Cushing, 65, died Wednesday morning at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
A service to celebrate her life will be held Saturday at 4 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home with the Rev. Bill Rose officiating.
She was born in Preston, Lancashire, England, July 18, 1941, the fourth child of Harold and Lillian Loxham.
Mrs. Cushing spent much of her childhood traveling with her parents in the middle east, where her father served in the R.A.F. They had lived in Egypt, Jordan, Iraq and finally were sent to France where her father served with the Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe.
While in France, she met the late Samuel Gilbert Cushing of South Dakota, serving with the U.S. NATO Forces. They were married in 1959 then traveled to the United States where they raised their family while Sam continued to serve with the U.S. military until his death in 1983.
Mrs. Cushing's greatest pleasures included her friends at Goldsboro Bingo, growing champion roses, fishing, spending time with her dogs, drinking a cup of hot tea, reading a good book, spending time on the Internet and most of all, being with family.
She is survived by her daughter, Donna Foy of Goldsboro; her sons, Samuel J. Cushing and wife, Krista, of Scarborough, Maine, and Michael G. Cushing and wife, Donna, of Chesapeake, Va.; a sister, Susan Collins of Canada; a half-sister, Rosemary Wyeth; brothers John Loxham, Harold Loxham and Jim Loxham of England; six grandchildren; and one great-grandson.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the American Rose Society, P.O. Box 30,000, Shreveport, La., 71119.
The family will greet friends Saturday following the service at Seymour Funeral Home.
