Gregory Dwayne Creel, 46, died Saturday at home. Born in Wayne County, he was the son of the late James Lonnie Creel. He is survived by his mother and stepfather, Shirley and William Betterton. He was a member of Walker Memorial United Methodist Church.
A graveside service will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Wayne Memorial Park, with the Rev. Sherman Guthrie officiating.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by a sister, Rhonda B. Wall, and her husband, Donald, of Garner, brothers, Ricky Wayne Creel and his wife, Annette, of Goldsboro, William "Billy" Betterton Jr. and his wife, Wilma, of Orlando, Fla., Brian Keith Betterton and his wife, Tamra, of Seven Springs; and an aunt, Jean Creel Jackson, and her husband, Everett, of Raleigh.
The family will receive friends following the graveside service and at other times at the home in Seven Springs.
