Frances Virginia Stith Carr, 82, of Goldsboro, died Saturday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
Mrs. Carr was born August 9, 1924, to the late Dalton and Mabel Fourhman Stith.
The funeral will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, of which she was a member. Bishop Steve Briggs will officiate. Burial will be in Wayne Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the funeral.
Mrs. Carr is survived by her husband of 64 years, John Spicer Carr Jr.; daughters, Virginia Susan Spell of Pittsboro and Toni Carr Gwaltney and husband, Doug, of Dudley; grandchildren, Jeffrey Carr Lewis and wife, Kelly, of Concord, Virginia Laura Spell of Cary, and Anna R. Small and husband, Shelby, of Cornelius; great-grandchildren, Matthew and Jacob Lewis; and two sisters-in-law, Evelyn J. Stith of Goldsboro and Susan S. Stith of Glen Allen, Va.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, William F. Stith and Max Dalton Stith.
