NORWOOD E. FIELDS

Norwood Earl Fields, 77, of 178 Olivia Way, Selma, died Wednesday at Johnston Memorial Hospital in Smithfield.
A graveside service will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Fairview Cemetery in LaGrange.
Mr. Fields was born in Lenoir County to the late Roland Fields Sr. and Lala Newsome Fields. He served with the U.S. Army during the Korean War and retired after 42 years of service with Petrolane Gas, which is now Amerigas.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Annie Parker Fields; two daughters, Vanessa Gilley, and husband, Jack, of Selma, and Cecelia Fields, also of Selma; one sister, Dorothy Allen of Wilmington; two grandchildren, Shawn Gilley of Selma and Eric Roland of Henderson; two great-grandchildren, Ty´Sean Ardion and Dustin Jay Roland; and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends this evening from 7 until 8:30 at Rouse Funeral Home in LaGrange.
