HARVEY VELASQUEZ

Harvey Velasquez, 63, of 2418 Giddensville Road, Faison, died Wednesday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
He farmed in Duplin, Sampson and surrounding counties and attended St. Mary's Catholic Church in Mount Olive.
A funeral mass will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at Pasada Guadalupana Catholic Church in Duplin County. Father Edgar Severdra will preside. Burial will be in the family cemetery near the home.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Velasquez of the home; six daughters, Marciela Velasquez of Pampa, Texas, Christina Duarte of Chicago, Ill., Stella Velasquez and Alicia Velasquez of Faison, Irma Valdivia of Orlando, Fla., and Doraelia Martinez of Angier; three sons, Harvey Velasquez Jr. of Mount Olive and Lauro Velasquez and Andras Velasquez of Faison; stepdaughters, Maria Del Rosario Gonzalez of Faison, Maria Santos Rosales of Groesbeck, Texas, San Juana Boulware of Mejia, Texas, and Narcedalia Chavez of Houston, Texas; one brother, Andres Velasquez of Batesville, Texas; four sisters, Lidia Diaz of Sabinal, Texas, Paula Cruz of Uvalde, Texas, and Juana Maldonado and Florencia Perea of San Jose, Calif.; and 29 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
The viewing hours will be from 2 until 6 on Saturday at McIntyre Funeral Home Ministries, 401 S. Center St., Mount Olive.
