ELIZABETH SPENCER

Died Aug. 3, 2006

SHELBY -- Elizabeth Stanley Spencer, 80, of 202 Country Club Circle, died Thursday at Carolinas Medical Center.

She graduated from Goldsboro High School and attended Brenau College, where she was a member of Delta Zeta. She served as a poll worker for the Cleveland County Board of Elections, was a volunteer at the Soup Kitchen and the Senior Center and was a member of John Knox Presbyterian Church and its choir. She enjoyed playing the piano and was an avid bridge player.

She is survived by her sons and daughters, Nita Bullock of Kennesaw, Ga., Mary Spencer and husband Dan Bolerjack and Diane Scronce and husband Wayne, all of Daytona Beach, Fla., and Dave Spencer and wife Faith of Wilmington; grandchildren, Beth Barrington, Nathan Scronce and wife Ashley of Atlanta, Ga., Sara Spencer of Appalachian State University in Boone, Katie Spencer of Wilmington and Spencer Bolerjack of Daytona Beach, Fla.; and one brother, F.W. Stanley of Shelby.

The funeral will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Cleveland Funeral Services. Burial will be in Sunset Cemetery.
