MANTEO -- Desmond Alexander Rogers Jr., 69, died Sunday at Duplin General Hospital in Kenansville. He was the son of the late Doris and Desmond A. Rogers Sr. and was the retired owner of Desro Used Trucks and was a member of Mount Olivet United Methodist Church in Manteo.
He is survived by three daughters, Annette Jackson of Goldsboro, Charlene Mann of Manns Harbor and Ronnie Marie Lyne of Richmond, Va.; one sister, Betty Rae Rogers of Williamston; and 10 grandchildren.
A service of Death and Resurrection will beheld Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Twiford's Colony Chapel in Manteo with the Reverend Dr. Jerry A. Jackson officiating. Burial will be in Manteo Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 until 9 this evening, and other times at the home of Michael and Charlene Mann, 6214 Highway 64, Manns Harbor.
