Edith Whitfield Hord, 89, of 600 S. Oleander Ave., died Monday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
A funeral will be held Sunday at 1 p.m. at Faith United Holy Church, with the Rev. Raveion Moses officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
Mrs. Hord was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Lina Whitfield; her husband, William Hord; one son, Robert Whitfield; two brothers, Ezra Hill and Earl Hill; and her great-grandson, Robert Whitfield, III.
She is survived by one daughter, Candis Williams (Sam) of Goldsboro; a brother, Hezekiah Hill of Goldsboro; a sister, Edna Barnes (James), a daughter-in-law, Elaine Whitfield; and five grand children and eight great-grandchildren.
The viewing hours will be from 3 until 7 p.m. on Satur-day at Hamilton Funeral Chapel.
The family will receive friends during the wake on Sunday at noon a Faith United Holy Church.
