Charles Edwin "Ed" Sutton, 63, of 5331 Wayne Memorial Drive, died Saturday at his home.

Mr. Sutton was born in Wayne County to the late Bernice Sutton and Catherine Williams Sutton. He worked with R.N. Rouse & Company in Goldsboro with 37 years of service. Mr.. Sutton was a member and former Chief of the Rosewood Volunteer Fire Department and was a member of Rosewood First Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be held Monday at 7 p.m. at Rosewood First Baptist Church with Rev. Larry Bostian officiating. Interment will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Wayne Memorial Park.

Mr. Sutton is survived by his wife, Sharon Teachey Sutton; daughter, Vicki Sutton of Durham; sisters, Frances Radford and husband, Malcolm of Rosewood and Ruth Sasser and husband, Rex of Rosewood; brothers, Dale Sutton and wife, Sandy of Rosewood and Paul Sutton and wife, Kathy of Kenly; god-daughter, Devin Coor of Goldsboro; and mother-in-law, Jessie Teachey Jackson and husband, Gene of Goldsboro.

Flowers are welcome or memorials may be made to Rosewood First Baptist Church, 562 N.C. Hwy. 581 South, Goldsboro, N.C. 27530.

Honorary pallbearers will be employees of R.N. Rouse & Company.

The family will receive friends Monday following the service at the church and other times at his home.

Arrangements are with Seymour Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
