The funeral for Dorothy Whitted Hardy will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at the First African Baptist Church. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
Mrs. Hardy was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas W. Hardy; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Whitted Sr.; and three sisters, Mrs. Estelle W. Curley, Mrs. Rachel W. Abbott, and Dr. Christine Whitted.
She is survived by her daughter, Dr. Thomasine Hardy of Raleigh; siblings, Mrs. Elizabeth W. Hobbs, Mrs. Ernestine W. Wooten (John Sr.), Mrs. Bernice W. Webster, Earl Whitted Jr., Mrs.. Rose W. Dublin, Mrs. Eunice W. Hudson (Holland), and Mrs. Ruth W. Britt (Eddie); and nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to the First African Baptist Church, 803 Harris St., Goldsboro, N.C., 27530.
