Marjorie Stout "Sally" DeMeter, 84, of the Alterra/Sterling House, died Monday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
Mrs. DeMeter was a native of Cleveland, Ohio, and, prior to moving to Goldsboro, she had lived in Fayetteville for 33 years. She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, retired U.S.M.C. Lt. Col. Robert F. DeMeter Sr.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Gerard A. McCall of Goldsboro; her son and daughter-in-law, Robert F. DeMeter Jr. and Ruth Ann DeMeter of Pacific Palisades, Calif.; her son, John T. DeMeter of Asheville; and seven grandchildren, Matthew, Caitlin and Carter McCall; Page and Paul DeMeter; Michelle and Daniel DeMeter.
A memorial service will be held Friday at 10 a.m. at Rogers and Breece Funeral Home Chapel, 500 Ramsey St., Fayetteville. Private interment will be at Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery in Spring Lake.
Memorial donations may be made to the Cape Fear Chapter of the Retired Officers Association, P.O. Box 53621, Fayetteville, N.C., 28305.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 7 until 9 p.m. at 205 Glen Oak Drive, Goldsboro.
Arrangements are with Seymour Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
