Deacon Harvey Bynum Sr., 78, of 5464 Hwy 903 S., Snow Hill, died Monday at Lenoir Memorial Hospital in Kinston.
The funeral will be held Saturday at noon at St. Stephen's Missionary Baptist Church in Goldsboro with the Rev. Ezekiel K. Sutton officiating. Burial will be in Old Mill Cemetery.
Mr. By-num was the son of the late Herman and Mary Bynum.
He is survived by his wife, Diane B. Bynum of the home; nine daughters, Ruby Joseph, Marylene Sutton, Annie Speight, Alma Speight, Deborah Thompson, Linda Sharpe, Jewel Gorham, Brenda Ruffin and Helen Jones; five sons, Harvey Bynum Jr., Freddie Bynum, Melvin Bynum, Larry Williams, and Ronnie Dupery: three sisters, Zida Howard, Elizabeth Lucas, and Christine Bynum; five brothers, James Bynum, Clarence Bynum, Charles Bynum, Paul Bynum and George Speight; and 58 grandchildren, 61 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
The viewing hours will be from 3 until 8 p.m. on Friday at Hamilton Funeral Chapel in Goldsboro and the family will be present to receive friends during the wake from 7 until 8 p.m.
