The funeral for Kathryn Mae Hancock, 91, of Old Smithfield Road, Princeton, will be held today at 6 p.m. in the chapel of Howell Funeral Home & Crematory. The Rev. Jerry Mitchell will officiate.

Mrs. Hancock died Monday at her home on Old Smithfield Road, Princeton.

She was a native of Portsmouth, Va., and was the daughter of Saul Adcock and Claude Poole Adcock and the widow of John R. Hancock.

She is survived by three sons, Max Lee Dix of South Carolina, Gary J. Dix and his wife, Shirley, of Virginia and John Ray Hancock and his wife, Faye, of Havelock; one daughter, Willa Kornegay, and her husband, Frank, of Goldsboro; seven grandchildren, Holly Welsh and her husband, Bill, Laura King and her husband, James, Todd Dix and his wife, Ann, Crystal Richmond and her husband, Jim, Charisse King, Vincent King and his wife, Kelly, and Michalene King; and 12 great-grandchildren, Daniel, Valerie, Kelvin, Phylicia, Justin, Trevan, Christopher, Nathan, Lauran, Meredith, Allison and Kevin.

The family will remain at the funeral home following the service tonight to receive friends until 8 p.m. At other times, friends and relatives may call at the home of Willa and Frank Kornegay, 112 Roselanding Drive in the Rosewood community.
