The funeral for Tommie Abram Lewis, 55, will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Rhodes Funeral Home. Elder Ray Williams will officiate. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
Mr. Lewis died last Saturday at his home at 3939 Pennsylvania Avenue in Washington, D.C.
He was the son of the late Johnny and Cora Cooper Lewis. He attended Goldsboro City Schools and served in the United States Army. After his discharge from the military, he worked as a police agent with special services in Washington, D.C., and as a security officer for Bell South Telephone Company.
Survivors include one daughter, Tonya McNair Leach of Goldsboro; one stepdaughter, LaShawn Powell of Washington, D.C.; one son, Andre Lewis of New York City; one stepson, Cortez McNair of Goldsboro; three grandchildren; two sisters, Alma Gills of Goldsboro and Geneva Benton of Brooklyn, N.Y.; and two brothers, James Henry Lewis and Willie Lewis of Goldsboro.
The wake will be held tonight from 7 until 8 at Rhodes Funeral Home.
