Robert "Bobby" Proctor, 68, of 201 Charles Drive, Fremont, died Thursday morning at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.

The funeral will be held Sunday at 3 p.m. at Shackleford-Howell Funeral Home Chapel. The Reverends Billy Toler, Jerry Evans and Loyd Hargis will officiate. Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery in Fremont.

Mr. Proctor was born in Wilson County to the late Luther Proctor and Clyde Varnell Proctor. He was a member of Fremont Free Will Baptist Church. Mr. Proctor was employed with Firestone in Wilson for 15 years and retired as a correctional officer at Selma Correctional Center. He also served in the United States Air Force.

He is survived by his wife, Loydene Bass Proctor; two daughters, Bobbi Ann Crawford, and her husband, Ron, of Goldsboro and Jennifer Montague of Fremont and her husband, David, of Goldsboro; three sisters, Myrtle Ivey, Peggy Rogers and her husband, George, and Flora Tripp, all of Fremont ; a brother, Thomas Proctor, and his wife, Linda, of Fremont; and three grandchildren; Caleb Crawford, Joshua Crawford and Macy Montague.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Leland "B.K." Proctor and Dennis Proctor.

The family will receive friends Saturday from 7 until 8:30 p.m. at Shackleford-Howell Funeral Home in Fremont, and other times at the residence.
