James E. Russell, 60, of 104 Becton Lane, died Saturday at Pitt County Memorial Hospital in Greenville.
The funeral will be held tonight at 7 in the chapel of Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro. Chaplain Maj. Robert Breckenridge will officiate. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday at noon at Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery in Spring Lake.
Mr. Russell was born in Spartanburg, S.C., to Gladys Wilkins Russell and the late LeRoy Russell. He retired from the United States Air Force and was a Vietnam War veteran. He was employed with the Holiday Inn Express.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Leola Brown Russell; three daughters, LeAudrey Mozell Giordano of Tucson, Ariz., Jamela Shanette Galloway of Raleigh and G. Ta-Tanisha Davis of Goldsboro; three brothers, Willie Lee Russell of Pacolet, S.C., and Gary Russell and Charles Russell of Cowpens, S.C.; two sisters, Christabell Breazelle of Virginia Beach, Va., and Doris Anderson of Cowpens, S.C.; and six grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at Howell Funeral Home following the service tonight, and other times at the residence.
