MARTIN NEWSOME

Martin Newsome, 76, of 918 N. John St., died Monday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
He was the son of the late Janatus and Jessie Lee Newsome and was a 1955 graduate of Pikeville Training School.
He is survived by two sons, Jesse Lamont Newsome of Goldsboro and Janatus Newsome of Pikeville; one daughter, Angela Darden of Goldsboro; and four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
The funeral will be held Friday at 1 p.m. in the chapel of Rhodes Funeral Home. Pastor Kenneth Vaughn will officiate. Burial will be in Hooks Grove Church Cemetery in Pikeville.
The funeral procession will line up at Angela Darden's residence at 105 Cella Street.
The viewing hours will be from 6 until 7 this evening at Rhodes Funeral Home.
