SMITHFIELD -- Sidney Gerald Coley, 84, of 830 Berkshire Road, died Thursday.
The funeral will be held today at 3 p.m. in the chapel of Coley Funeral Home in Kenly. The Rev. Frank Grubbs will officiate. Burial will be in Selma Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Coley was a retired funeral home employee and retired Kenly fireman and was a member and former deacon of Selma Original Free Will Baptist Church. He was named the Smithfield-Selma Chamber of Commerce Citizen of the Year in 1996.
He is survived by his wife, Vira Parrish Coley; two daughters, Judy C. Miller and Debbie C. Stanley of Smithfield; one son, Gerald W. Coley of Kenly; and five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
The family received friends Saturday from 6-8 p.m. at Coley Funeral Home Chapel and other times at the home of Gerald and Loraine Coley, 105 E. Second St., Kenly.
