Tempie Reid Atkinson, 85, of Princeton, died Sunday at the University of North Carolina Hospital in Chapel Hill.
The funeral will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Barnes Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in Rosewood. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery on U.S. 70 West.
Mrs. Atkinson was a native of Johnston County and was the daughter of the late John Reid and Pearl Whitley.
She is survived by one son, Decorris Atkinson of Princeton; one daughter, Terri Atkinson Boyd of Princeton; one sister, Geraldine Stevens of Smithfield and two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
The viewing hours will be from 3 until 6 p.m. at R.L. Sanders Funeral Home in Smithfield.
