Effie Monk, 87, of Raleigh and formerly of Kenansville, died Thursday at Wake Medical Center.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Miller Sr., and is survived by three sons, Eranda Miller of Prince George, Va., Eugene Miller of Baltimore, Md., and Jack Miller Jr. of Raleigh; two daughters, Hattie Williams of Deer Park, N.Y., and Martha Johnson of Raleigh; one stepdaughter, Edith Ingram of Mount Olive; and 19 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren and seven step-grandchildren.
The funeral will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Rose Hill Funeral Home. The Rev. William T. Newkirk will officiate. Burial will be in the Farrior Family Cemetery, Kenansville.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home during the hour prior to the service on Tuesday morning.
