GLADYS B. WELLS

Mrs. Gladys Best Wells, 93, died Monday at the Alterra Sterling House.

Mrs. Wells was born in Wayne County on July 31, 1912, to the late Waite Best and Vira Rose Best. She was married to the late Russell Wells and the late George Newsome. Mrs. Wells was a member of First Christian Church.

A graveside service will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Wayne Memorial Park with the Reverend Dr. Fred Clarke officiating.

Mrs. Wells is survived by her son, Gene Wells, and his wife, Mary, of Goldsboro; her daughter-in-laws, Patricia L. Wells of Goldsboro and Rosemary W. Twiford of Hampstead; her grandchildren, Bryan Wells of Grantham, Pam W. Ivey and her fiancé, Randy King, of Mount Olive, Jill W. Heath and her, husband, Greg, of Cary, Melinda W. Blackman and husband, Robert, of Clayton; Scott Wells and wife, Belva, of Goldsboro and Brent Wells of Goldsboro; her great-grandchildren, Julie Ivey, Sam Heath, Allison Wells, Cullen Wells and Russell Wells; and her sister, Aileen B. Parks.

She was preceded in death by two sons, Russell Bryan Wells and Jeptha Rose Wells, and a brother, Howard Best.

Memorial donations may be made to the First Christian Church, 1609 E. Ash St., Goldsboro, N.C., 27530.

The family will receive friends following the graveside service, and at other times at the home of Gene and Mary Wells, 2930 US 70 Hwy. West.
