JAMES R. GOFF

Mr. James R. Goff, 80, of 241 Belfast Road, died Friday at Wilson Medical Center.

Mr. Goff was born on May 15, 1925, in Wayne County to the late John Goff and Fannie Walston Goff. He owned and operated Bel-fast Grocery in the Belfast Community for 16 years. Mr. Goff served his country in the United States Army during World War II and had retired with the rank of major from the United States National Guard.

Funeral services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jimmy Whitfield officiating. Burial will follow in Wayne Memorial Park with military honors.

Mr. Goff is survived by his wife of 58 years, Kathryn Forehand Goff; his daughter, Sheila G. Talton and husband, Cy, of Pikeville; his sons, James Goff Jr. and wife, Connie, of Boone; and Thomas Kevin "Bunky" Goff and wife, Shirley, of Fremont; his brother, Paul Goff and wife, Gladys, of Pikeville; his sister, Ruth Goff Adams and husband, Leah, of Zachary, La.; his grandchildren, Trista T. Bolenbaugh and husband, Eric; Amanda Talton, Gideon Goff and wife, Sarah; Kacy Goff, Jacob Goff, Thomas (Bo) Goff, Rebecca Goff and Joseph Goff; one great-grandchild, Elijah Bolenbaugh; his sisters-in-law, Eleanor Goff of Goldsboro and Margie Goff of Delaware; his brother-in-law, Louis Long of Richmond, Va.; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Milton Goff, Ervin Goff, Tommy Goff, Willie Goff and Leslie Goff; and his sisters, Rebecca Kirby and Inez Long.

Flowers are welcome or memorials may be made to The First Pentecostal Holiness Church, 1101 The First Church Road, Goldsboro, NC 27534.

The family will receive friends Sunday from 7- 9 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home and other times at his home.
