KINSTON -- Lois Jean Teachey Dudley Thompson, 55, mother of Phillip Teachey of Goldsboro, died Monday at her residence.

The funeral will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Edwards Funeral Home. Pastor Van Mitchell will officiate. Burial will be in Pinelawn Memorial Park.

Mrs. Thompson was a bookkeeper for Lenoir County Schools and was a member of the Grifton Free Will Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Cicero Dudley and Annie Mitchell Taylor, her first husband, Asa Teachey, and her stepfather, Charlie Taylor.

In addition to her son, she is survived by her husband, Linwood F. Thompson; three other sons, Lance Teachey of Kinston, Vernon Howard of Wilmington and Jimmy Thompson of Kinston; one daughter, Linda Wyckoff of Kinston; and seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

The family will receive friends Wednesday night from 7 until 9 at Edwards Funeral Home, and other times at the residence at 1755 Hill Farm Road.
