LAGRANGE -- Mrs. Leda Elsie Wilson, 71, of 242 LaGrange Road, died suddenly Saturday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
Mrs. Wilson was born in Edgecombe County on Oct. 17, 1934, to the late Richard Winston Williams and Catherine Braswell Williams.
She worked as a seamstress making draperies in her home.
Graveside services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Fairview Cemetery in LaGrange, with Rev. Gerald Fowler officiating.
Mrs. Wilson is survived by her children, Leda Holland, of the home, and Dennis Hawkins, of Castalia; her sisters, Shirley Ann Hufsteder of Montgomery, Ala., and Irene Vick of Rocky Mount; her brother, MacArthur Williams of Smiths Station, Ala.; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Kenneth Hawkins.
The family will receive friends Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home and other times at her home.
