GREENVILLE -- Eddy Ray Jones, 56, died at his home on Friday, March 31, 2006. A memorial service will be conducted at 4 p.m. on Sunday, April 2, 2006, at St. James United Methodist Church, 2000 East Sixth Street, Greenville, N.C., by the Reverend Gray Southern. The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the fellowship hall.
Mr. Jones, a native of Duplin County, was the son of the late Ernest Edward and Mildred Anderson Jones, of Mount Olive, N.C. He attended North Carolina State University and began his career with Farm Credit Bank of Columbia, S.C.
During his distinguished career with Farm Credit, he served as President and Chief Executive Officer of the Production Credit Association in Perry, Georgia, the Federal Land Bank of Ahoskie and, most recently, retired from East Carolina Farm Credit Service of Greenville, N.C.
Mr. Jones was an active member of the St. James United Methodist Church in Greenville, where he served as Chairman of the Board of Trustees and as a member of the Finance Committee and of the Administrative Board.
He is survived by his wife, Pamela Moore Jones; a son, Edward Richard Jones of Gainesville, Florida, and his fiancée Brittany Ware; and sister, Daphne Pollock and husband, Jimmy, of Deep Run, N.C.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. James United Methodist Church, Scholarship Fund, 2000, East Sixth Street, Greenville, NC 27858.
Arrangements are by Wilkerson Funeral Home and Crematory.
