CAROLYN M. WINGATE

HOOKERTON -- Carolyn May Wingate, 63, died Wednesday at Lenoir Memorial Hospital in Kinston.

The funeral will be held Saturday morning at 11 at Little Creek Free Will Baptist Church. The Rev. Frank Flowers and the Rev. Charles Russell will officiate. Interment will follow at the Snow Hill Cemetery.

She was the youngest of four children born to Guy and Thelma Stocks Carraway. A native of the Scuffleton community, she was a lifelong resident of Greene County, was a member of Little Creek Free Will Baptist Church and was retired from Cardinal Chemicals in Kinston.

Ms. Wingate is survived by one daughter, Lorrie W. Johnson, and her husband, Danny, of Willow Spring; grandchildren, Jordan and Cameron; sisters, Comolia Neal and husband, Kenneth, of Goldsboro and Linda Lang and husband, Ham, of Snow Hill; a brother, Billy May and wife, Chalaron, of New Bern; a niece, Misty Chase, and husband, Stacy, and their children, Tyler and Ashleigh all of Snow Hill; and nephews, Jamie Lang III and wife, Melissa, and their daughters, Georgia, Sadie and Eliza, all of Greenville, and Harlon Neal and wife, Allison, and their children, Cody and Hannah of Goldsboro.

The family will receive friends tonight from 7 until 9 at Taylor-Tyson Funeral Service in Snow Hill and other times at the home of Stacy and Misty Chase, 760 Hwy 58 South, Snow Hill.
