Died March 28, 2006

James Broadie, 69, of 284 Red Hill Road, died Tuesday at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.

The funeral will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. at the First Missionary Baptist Church, 410 S. Goldsboro St., Fremont. The Rev. Tedaro Reid will officiate. Burial will be in Fremont Cemetery.

Mr. Broadie was the son of Rena Broadie and the late James Washington Broadie Sr.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by three sons, James Lamont III, Larry Broadie and John Wesley of Washington, D.C.; five daughters, Susie Bannerman, Gloria Bundy, Mary A. Adkins, Wilma J. Broadie, and Tina Broadie, all of Washington, D.C.; four brothers, King David Broadie and Donna Hue Broadie of Eureka, Roosevelt Broadie of Washington, D.C., and Bobby Ray of Havelock; one sister, Betty Broadie of Eureka; and 13 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren.

The viewing hours will be from 3 until 8 p.m. on Friday at Hamilton Funeral Chapel in Goldsboro, and the family will be present to receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. At other times relatives and friends may call at 284 Red Hill Road, Eureka.
