Annie Woodard Stafford, 85, died Monday at Britthaven Nursing Home in Snow Hill.

The funeral will be held Wednesday at 8 p.m. at Black Jack Free Will Baptist Church with the Rev. Jason Sherman and the Rev. Dennis Pollock officiating. Interment will be Thursday at 10 a.m. at Wayne Memorial Park.

Mrs. Stafford was born in Johnston County on Oct. 30, 1920, to the late Leonard B. Woodard and Ava Summerlin Woodard. She was married to the late Joseph Stafford. She was formerly employed in the food service department at Cherry Hospital and was a member of Black Jack Free Will Baptist Church.

She is survived by one daughter, Jo Ann Adcock, and her husband, Wayne of Jonesborough, Tenn.; one son, Douglas Stafford, and his wife, Shelia, of Goldsboro; two sisters, Cassie Hinson and Mary Beard of Goldsboro; five grandchildren, Tiffany S. Boseman and husband Damon; Ashley Stafford and fiancé Josh Reed; Phillip Adcock and wife LuAnn, Terry Adcock and wife Tammy; and Chris Adcock; and three great-grandchildren, Jacob Adcock, Joshua Adcock and Lexi Boseman.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Earl Woodard.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6 until 8 p.m. at Black Jack Free Will Baptist Church, and other times at the home of Douglas and Shelia Stafford, 252 Mull Smith Lane, Goldsboro.
