PRINCETON --The funeral for Jerry Otha Rains, 56, of 120 Laura Ave., will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. in the chapel of Casey Funeral Home. The Rev. Charles Heath will officiate. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
Mr. Rains died Monday at Wilson Medical Center.
He was preceded in death by his father, John Haywood Rains.
He is survived by his wife, Dalphine Gooding Rains of Princeton; one son, Jerry Austin Rains of the home; four daughters, Debbie Coker of Goldsboro, Beverley Fields of Princeton; Angela Rigsbee of Clayton and Sara Rains of the home; his mother, Estelle Parrish Rains of Smithfield; one brother, John Rains of Oxford; five sisters, Marie Harper of Princeton, Gray Edwards of Swansboro, Kathy Edwards of Salisbury and Tania Long of Smithfield; and eight grandchildren.
The family will receive friends tonight from 7 until 9 at Casey Funeral Home.
