SNOW HILL -- Belle Roberson Matthews, 62, died of cancer on Wednesday at Pitt Memorial Hospital in Greenville.
The funeral will be held Friday at 7 p.m. at Emmanuel Baptist Church, 5975 Hwy. 70 East, LaGrange. The Rev. Wayne Brown will officiate. Committal services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday at Snow Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. Matthews was a native of Pitt County and was the daughter of the late, Leonard Lee and Mary Lucille Sermons Roberson. She was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church in LaGrange.
She is survived by one daughter, Robin Smith, and fiancé, Timmy Suggs of Snow Hill; a son, Jerry Head and wife, Angie, of Snow Hill; grandchildren, Donny Murphy Head III and Davey Raymond Head of Snow Hill; a special aunt, Shirley Faye Moore and husband, Cecil, of Walstonburg; sisters, Mary Hardison and husband, Douglas, of Wilson; Brenda Lee and husband, Ronnie, of Deep Run; and Sandra Mozingo of Farmville; brothers, Robert Roberson and wife, Louise, of Snow Hill; Henry Roberson and wife, Brenda, of Walstonburg; Larry Roberson and wife, Sherry, of Snow Hill; Keith Roberson and wife, Debra, of Tarboro; and Ronnie Roberson and wife, Carole, of Fountain.
A brother, Kenneth Wayne Roberson, preceded her in death.
The family will receive friends at the church on Friday following the service, and other times at the residence of Jerry and Angie Head, 1108 Peanut Road, Snow Hill.
