ELIZA W. DAVIS

CLINTON -- Eliza Wright Davis, 90, died Tuesday afternoon at the Mary Gran Nursing Center in Clinton.

Funeral services will be held by the graveside on Friday at 2 p.m. at Wayne Memorial Park. The Rev. Michael Whitesides and the Rev. Millard Bounds will officiate.

Miss Davis, born in Duplin County, had been a long-time resident of Goldsboro, Mount Olive, and more recently, Clinton. She was a retired sales clerk with Woolworth's Dept. Store in Goldsboro and was a member of Bear Marsh Missionary Baptist Church. She is remembered as being one who freely gave of herself to the benefit of friends and family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William Robert and Essie Price Davis; sisters, Nellie Davis, Mary Ruth D. Carr, Ruby D. Peterson, and Marie D. Jackson; and brothers, Woodrow Davis, Edward J. Davis, and Willie Price Davis.

Survivors include a brother, Larry Thomas Davis of Roanoke Rapids; three sisters, Helen D. House and Louise D. Malpass, both of Mount Olive, and Edna Elizabeth D. Webster of Clinton; and several nieces and nephews.

Her family will receive friends at Tyndall Funeral Home in Mount Olive on Thursday from 7 until 8:30 p.m., and at other times at the home of Mrs. Alton Malpass, 390 Jones - Turner Road, Mount Olive.
