Jo Steppe Moseley, 83, died Thursday at Windsor Point Medical Facility in Fuquay-Varina. She had been in a period of declining health for several months.

She was born April 13, 1922, in Parr Shoals, S.C., and grew up at Lake Murray, S.C. She received an associate degree in Accounting from the University of South Carolina. She was employed by the South Carolina State Board of Health in Columbia, S.C., until her family moved back to Goldsboro in 1963.

Mrs. Moseley was the daughter of the late Jack Thomas Steppe and Lenora Jenkins Steppe.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.

She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Alpheus S. Moseley; her children, Jane M. Russell and husband, Kent Russell of Apex, and the Rev. Charles K. Moseley and wife, Peggy D. Moseley of Hattaras; five grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.

A memorial service will be held at a later date at First United Methodist Church in Fuquay-Varina. The family will receive friends at that time. Her interment will take place at St. Michael's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Irmo, S.C. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church, 402 N. Main St., Fuquay-Varina, or a charity of one's choice.
